JessAnn Smith was born and raised near the Puget Sound and has been performing most of her life. After graduating high school at age 16, she moved to Missoula to attend the University of Montana, receiving her BA in vocal performance with Honors as the youngest graduate in over 40 years.

JessAnn has worked in Washington, Montana, New York and the Southeast with Opera Pacifica, South Sound Light Opera Company, Cornerstone Brass & Chorale, Reverie Productions, Hudson Warehouse, Looking Glass Theater, Moonbeam Productions, Missoula Children's Theater, Period Musicals, Inc (with director Julie Taymor), MTV and VH1. She has been featured (and very well-reviewed!) in the horror films Pink Eye (Halo 8) and Skinned Alive (Lions Gate) and has been a continuing cast member of Michael Holland's Hurricane the Musical workshop, most recently directed by Scott Schwartz. JessAnn also sang as a soloist for Long Beach Symphony Summer Series in 2005 and at the United Nations for the Katrina and Tsunami Victims' Benefits and the US workshop of Jihad: The Musical. In 2007, JessAnn toured the west coast, Thailand and Australia with her self produced duo, giving academic lecture recitals and performing her cabaret show, Tapas!. Some of her favorite credits include Rosie (Bye Bye Birdie), Mary (Little Mary Sunshine), Maggie (A Chorus Line) and the 2007 Theater at Judson Off-Broadway revival of Al Carmine's "Christmas Rappings."

JessAnn has been teaching voice and music theory for almost ten years and is a resident member of the KADM players, with whom she will be reprising the role of Lily in Stay Over at the Lounge Theater this Summer in Los Angeles after its successful run in January at Theater for the New City in New York. In April, JessAnn can be seen portraying Judy Garland in Huntington Dinner Theater's "Fascinating Rhythm."

JessAnn loves rock-climbing and international travel and lives in Manhattan with an impossibly large, ever-growing population of books.
